The Songbird

The songbird sang as night turned into day
I watched as my life faded away
Into the night I watched it all go
After that night, the days were slow

As the songbird sang loud and proud
I watched him disappear into the crowd
I dropped my head and felt the first tear
But in my heart I knew I had nothing to fear

Every night, the songbird came
As the days drug by, I still felt the same
Fate brought us together, then ripped us apart
He left me sitting here with a torn heart

With his song he mended my tear
He kissed my eyes and ruffled my hair
On his flight, he had found himself
But behind something he had left

As the song bird sings, I look for tomorrow
i have no more reason to weep in sorrow
I love my songbird, and he loves me
Fate brought us back together, like it was meant to be.
