I found this on Pinterest and I doubted it would work on my very straight, really thick hair. I can hardly get it to curl with hot rollers and it does not stay in all day. So as I said, I doubted this would work.

Last night before putting my hair in sock bun.
As you can see, it is straight. FYI: I had washed and dried it this morning.
Sock Bun. Cut the toes off and old dress sock and rolled it up. I flipped my head over and put it in a high ponytail. Now since I have layers I left my head flipped over to put the sock in. I am including the directions from the original blog I got it from. She did a great job explaining how to do it!
My hair at 6:45 this morning when I pulled the sock out!! It was curly! I could not believe it! I wore it to class this way pulled back in the front with some bobby pins. I got a bunch of compliments on it too!!
This is this afternoon at 5:30. It was still kind of wavy, but starting to fall out, but by this point I am about to go to Zumba class so I don't care!I am so amazed that this worked, I just had to share! I think I have found a new quick and easy hair style. Plus as an added bonus, the bun is really tight and good to run out in and it is out of my face while I study!
